ABSTRACT:
Herbal drugs are widely used in treatment of various diseases and as a source of primary health care. Herbal products are classified as dietary supplements functional foods, and traditional medicines. The major problem in the evaluation of herbal drug products is that these are complex mixtures of constituents and the constituents responsible for the medicinal effects are unknown which also complicates the stability of these products. So, for the product to be manufactured by industries needs a regulatory rules drafted by world’s regulatory bodies are to be followed for the safe production and utilization of herbal drugs.
