ABSTRACT:
This article presents the results of a study of the toxicity and antimicrobial activity of a carbon dioxide extract from the herb Lomelosia isetensis (L.) Soják. The antimicrobial activity of the CO2-extract was studied against gram-positive strains, Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis, as well as gram-negative strains of Escherichia coli, via the diffusion method on agar disks impregnated with a solution of the substance under study. The carbon dioxide extract from the herb Lomelosia isetensis (L.) Sojak, which has moderate antimicrobial activity against test strains of Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli.
