The analgesic and anti-inflammatory activity of the defatted ethanolic extract of leaves of Anthocephalus cadamba in wistar rats was studied. The presence of phytosterols, phenolic compounds, tannins, alkaloids, proteins, glycosides, was detected in the preliminary phytochemical investigation in ethanolic extract of Anthocephalus cadamba Roxb. leaves. Leaves exhibited significant analgesic activity and anti-inflammatory activity in wistar rats. The extract doses were compared with aspirin and Pentazocine as standards, and were found that the extracts revealed the satisfactory significant activity.
