ABSTRACT:
Ethanolic and aqueous leaf extracts of Pithecellobium dulce were studied for its anti-inflammatory activity using carrageenan –induced paw edema in rats. Both extracts showed significant anti-inflammatory activity by lowering paw volume at the tested dose level. The aqueous extract showed more activity than the ethanol extract which was comparable to diclofenac sodium, a standard anti-inflammatory drug.
