ABSTRACT:
Two simple, precise and economical spectrophotometer methods have been developed for the estimation of nisoldipine in bulk and pharmaceutical preparations. Method A is based on the reaction of nisoldipine with DMSO and potassium hydroxide to form dark yellow chromogen followed by measuring the absorbance at 430nm. Method B involves the reaction of nisoldipine with 4 Dimethyl aminobenzaldehyde to give a yellow coloured chromogen having maximum absorbance at 400nm. Beers concentration for the method A was found to be 20 to 80mg/mL and 50-250mg/mL for method B. The results of the analysis were validated statistically and found to be satisfactory.
