ABSTRACT:
AIM : To take an epidemiological data on the prevalence of leukoplakia. OBJECTIVE : To find the total number of patients affected by leukoplakia in a particular region for the past 3 years. BACKGROUND: In this research the total leukoplakia patients for the past 3 years were screened from the oral pathology department of Saveetha Dental College. To have a clear knowledge on the occurrence of leukoplakia in a population, this research has been done and in this research the effect of their habits are also discussed. Leukoplakia are actually oral white lesions that cannot be clinically or pathologically characterized by any specific disease. REASON: To have a clear knowledge on the occurrence of leukoplakia and effect of our habit on its occurrence.
