ABSTRACT:
Aim: To study the errors occur during the processing of the complete denture. Materials and method: Questionnaire containing the 20 questions on assessing the errors occur during the processing of the complete denture. Objectives: To access the errors during the processing of the complete denture done by the saveetha dental college students. Background: The process of fabricating a denture usually begins with an initial dental impression of the maxillary and mandibular ridges. Standard impression materials are used during the process. Processing a denture is usually performed using a lost wax and the form of the final denture, including the acrylic denture teeth, is invested in stone.During the processing period, heat cured acrylics also called permanent denture acrylic go through a process called Polymerisation causing the acrylic materials to bond very tightly and taking several hours to complete. Cold mould seal is a major component factor that would determine how a denture would appear . Absence or lac of cold mould seal will cause the denture to stuck along with the cast in the flask. Improper applying of the Vaseline also causes error during flashing. Reason: To create the awareness among the dental students to identify and avoid the error occurring during the processing of the complete denture.
