ABSTRACT:
The current study was aimed to observe impact of vestibular stimulation on respiratory endurance. 16 willing, apparently healthy, male (n=8) and female (n=8) volunteers in the age group of 18-24 years, were included in the study, after obtaining written, voluntary, informed consent by ensuring confidentiality. Vestibular stimulation was achieved by making the Participants to swing on a swing in back to front direction. Respiratory endurance was assessed by standard methods specified in the literature. No significant modulation was observed in respiratory endurance followed by vestibular stimulation. We recommend further detailed studies in this area to explore impact of vestibular stimulation on respiratory endurance.
