ABSTRACT:
This study evaluated the association between dietary habits, which major components for growth and health about youth, and subjective oral health. This study used “subjective oral health status” as the dependent variable and “Dietary habits” was included as a major explanatory variable. Regression analysis was performed to identify the factors that influence subjective oral health status. The results of the association between dietary habits and subjective oral health about youth, showed that higher subjective oral health status scores those who had higher frequency of consuming food for beneficial oral health than those who responded “none” (p<0.000). As consuming food for harmful oral health represents the reverse effect (p<0.000). Because formed in adolescents life styles have an effect throughout entire life, the right lifestyle through appropriate education should be trained. As identified in this study, oral health education containing dietary habits and oral health behavior that affect oral health care of young people should be provided continuously.
