ABSTRACT:
Introduction: Clinical measurement of normal maximal mouth opening in children is an important diagnostic criteria in evaluation of stomatognathic system. The range of mouth opening is a significant factor in the diagnosis of many clinical conditions and have implications in the treatment of many maxillofacial disorders. Aim And Objectives: The aim of the study is to determine the maximal mouth opening in children of age between 3 and 12 years and to examine the possible influence of age, gender, height, body weight on maximal mouth opening. Material and Method: Children between 3 and 12 years are randomly selected. For each child, mouth openings are recorded in mm and mean value is considered. The age, gender, height, body weight of each child will also be recorded at same time. Data will be collected and statistically analyzed. Result: This study will help to evaluate the possible influence of age, gender, height, body weight in maximal mouth opening in children of age from three to twelve years.
