ABSTRACT:
The rise in opiate abuse yearly is worrisome. Nowadays, psycho-spiritual imbalance in the society causes increasing number of opiate addiction cases. Numerous methods and programmes have been running through the management of opiate addiction Methadone Maintenance Therapy (MMT) is one of the widely used among this programme. However, the programme is not free from limitations especially retaining patients in the programme is hard due to multi-factorial reasons. This article aims at providing glimpse of holistic approach that take a grips from psycho-spiritual intervention and MMT programme that helps in dropping relapse rate. The article discusses the role of psycho-spiritual approach in enhancing MMT programme and curtailing this social menace.
