ABSTRACT:
This study aims to examine the pharmacoeconomic aspects of analyzing the cost-effectiveness of pharmacist counseling in therapeutic success and quality of life of hypertensive patients. This research conducted with cost data collection from the perspective of BPJS (Social Insurance Administration Organization in Indonesia) or INA-CBGs and The General Hospital of East Nusa Tenggara Province. The results showed that patients with controlled blood pressure (target range <140/90mmHg) in the counseling group (39 people/78%) were greater than the group without counseling (13 people/26%), The results of the cost-effectiveness analysis of the INA-CBGs perspective show that to get one patient with controlled blood pressure, the counseling group costs less (IDR. 6,387,-) than the group without counseling (IDR. 57,485,-); to increase one score of quality of life, the counseling group costs less (IDR. 4,- and IDR. 5,-) than the group without counseling (IDR. 96,- and IDR. 888,-); Cost-Effective Incremental Ratio of pharmacist counseling cost of the hospital perspective shows savings of IDR. 2,296,-/person with controlled blood pressure and IDR. 1,-/increase in one score of improvement in the quality of life. Pharmacist counseling is more cost-effective than without counseling in therapeutic success and quality of life of hypertensive patients.
