ABSTRACT:
Hair loss is a problem that is often found in the hair. As for plants that have the potential to stimulate hair growth is meniran (Phyllanthus niruri L.). This study aims to determine the activity of hair tonic of the ethyl acetate fraction meniran and the influence of menthol enhancer in stimulating hair growth. Hair tonic smeared on the backs of test animals that have been shaved. Parameters used are length and weight of hair. Hair length observers performed on day 7, 14 and 21, while for hair weight on day-to-21. The results of this study show that formula 1 has a smaller hair length compared to formula 2 containing menthol enhancer. Meanwhile, on hair weight, formula 1 gives greater value than formula 2. Although based on calculations using statistics do not show any significant difference between the two formulas.
