ABSTRACT:
The nanoemulsion study deals with the formulation and characterization of bio based oil in water nanoemulsion and its potential antimicrobial activity. The resistance of the bacteria and fungi to the numerous antimicrobial agents constitutes one of the great challenges in the treatment of infections and finding new sources of substances with antimicrobial properties. Emulsions are used to stabilize and increase the antimicrobial efficacy of oils in aqueous solutions. Eucalyptus oil and neem oil used as antibacterial agent in pharmaceutical products. This study deals with nanoemulsion formulation with neem oil, tween 20, by high, ultrasonication and the droplet size is confirmed byDLS (Dynamic light scattering). Smaller droplets provide better distribution of the oil. The effective anitimicrobial activity against pathogens Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Bacillus subtilis.
