ABSTRACT:
The present study deals with the GC MS analysis of one Ayurvedic emedicine, Sitopaladi, which is prescribed for the treatment of respiratory diseases. Sitopaldai was purchased for standard Ayurvedic vendor at Chennai and subjected to GC MS analysis following standard protocol. Some biomolecules of medicinal importance such as Clindamycin, d-Glycero-d-ido-heptose, Agaricic acid, n-Hexadecanoic acid, cis-13-Octadecenoic acid, Oleic Acid. Hexadecanoic acid, 1-(hydroxymethyl)-1,2-ethanediyl, 4-Fluorobenzoic acid, 1-adamantylmethyl ester, 2',3'-O-p-Anisylideneguanosine, 8,14-Seco-3,19-epoxyandrostane-8,14-dione, 17-acetoxy- 3.beta.-methoxy-4,4-dimethyl-, 8-(2,5-Dimethoxyphenyl)-6-methyl-2-(4-methylpent-3-enyl)octa-2,6-dienoic acid, ethyl ester were indicated in the in GCMS profile, which have roles similar to that of Sitopaladi.
