ABSTRACT:
Essential oils are extracted from plants and are volatile in nature. They are mostly colourless, hydrophobic, less viscous than oil, less dense than water, have a watery texture, and are highly aromatic. It is also useful in other fields, including boosting mood, improving sleep, reducing anxiety and pain, improving job performance through reduced stress and increased attentiveness, killing bacteria, reducing inflammation, reducing nausea, and relieving headaches. Essential oil can also act as an anti-aging agent, which is also the main focus of this review. Essential oil helps in anti-aging by targeting the appearance, where it helps to restore the elasticity of the skin by keeping our skin moist. We have reviewed a few essential oils that are effective as anti-aging, such as frankincense, lavender, rose, neroli, geranium, sandalwood, citrus, carrot seed, ylang-ylang, and rosemary.
