ABSTRACT:
This article presents studies of the presence of heavy metals in waste carbon dioxide extraction (CO2-meal). Alcohol and aqueous extracts from CO2-meal of herb Scabiosa ochroleuca L. (scabiosa pale yellow) were studied via inversion voltammetry for the presence of the following heavy metals: zinc (Zn), cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb), and copper (Cu). Research has been conducted to determine the dynamics of the migration of heavy metals from raw materials to CO2 meals. According to the results of the present study, the contents of heavy metals in the alcohol extract from the CO2 meal of the herb Scabiosa ochroleuca L. were as follows: Zn = 0.6136 mg/ml; Cd = 0.001999 mg/ml; Pb = 0.002992 mg/ml; and Cu = 1.868 mg/ml. For an aqueous extract from the CO2 meal of the herb Scabiosa ochroleuca L., Zn = 0.2471 mg/ml; Cd = 0.01919 mg/ml; Pb = 0.02321 mg/ml; and Cu = 0.3304 mg/ml. The percentage of transition of heavy metals from vegetable raw materials to CO2-meal for alcohol extraction was as follows: Zn =1.87%; Cd = 12.44%; Pb = 0.28%; and Cu = 10%. The percentage of transition of heavy metals from vegetable raw materials to CO2-meal for the aqueous extract was as follows: Zn = 0.8%; Cd = 85%; Pb = 2.2%; and Cu = 1.7%.
