ABSTRACT:
Applying herbal face masks serves to enhance blood circulation, rejuvenate the skin, maintain elasticity, and effectively remove dirt from skin pores. Establishing herbal face masks containing a variety of herbal powders is a commendable initiative. The primary advantage of herbal cosmetics lies in their non-toxic nature, reducing the risk of allergic reactions. In this context, we are formulating a peel-off face gel using liquorice extract, known for exfoliating and brightening all skin types, combating pigmentation and acne, soothing evening skin tone, and providing a healthy glow. Aloe vera gel is incorporated for acne removal, skin moisturization, and its soothing properties. The formulation employs excipients such as PVA (polyvinyl alcohol), glycerin, and lactic acid. Various formulations were prepared and evaluated for parameters like spreadability, pH, stability studies, and peeling time, with the results falling within the standard range. Three batches (F1, F2, and F3) underwent evaluation for physical characteristics, odour, consistency, washability, pH, and spreadability. Additionally, peel-off gel masks were prepared for each batch, dried, and assessed for peeling time. Among all the formulations studied, batch F2 emerged as optimal across all parameters.
