ABSTRACT:
A classic Ayurvedic preparation known as Shata-Dhauta-Ghrita consists of clarified butter fat (cow ghee) washed 100 times with water. This process transforms clear ghee into white silky smooth texture looking like butter that works as an anti-wrinkle, antioxidant, and conventional moisturizer. This homemade emollient Shata-Dhauta-Ghrita (SDG) effectively heals wounded skin. The current study focuses on the preparation and analysis of Shata-Dhauta-Ghrita as well as SDG based Panchgavya Polyherbal Cream with five prototypes F1, F2, F3, F4 and F5, its application, anti-bacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and anti-fungal activity against Saccharomyces cerevisiae at different concentrations (0.3mg/10mL, 0.6mg/10mL, and 0.9mg/10mL), comparative physical and microbiological study with marketed formulations and the importance of SDG development as cream base. The evaluations of all parameters like pH, stability study, spreadability studies and anti-microbial study were examined. In reference to all the results of analytical studies, formulations are found to be safe to use for skin. From the prevailing examination and procured results it might be concluded that it's possible to broaden polyherbal cream containing cow ghee and natural extracts having anti-oxidants belongings and which can be formulated to act as a barrier or to defend skin, also to make better and safer cosmetic world.
