ABSTRACT:
Mannich base substituted pyrazolone derivatives were synthesized by condensing substituted 3-methyl pyrazole 5-one with substituted aldehydes and on further treatment with formaldehyde and secondary amines to yield the corresponding mannich bases. The purity of the synthesized compounds were checked by TLC and characterized by FT-IR, 1H NMR. All the synthesized compounds were screened for antibacterial and antifungal activity. The compounds 6b, 6g, 6h, 6i, 6j showed good anti-bacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and E.coli compared to standard Gentamycin. All the synthesized compounds exhibits maximum anti fungal activity against fusarium sp. compared to standard fluconazole.
